Is uptime monitoring a security tool?

It can reveal some outages or defacement, but it is mainly an availability signal. It does not replace logs, change detection, malware investigation or application security review.

How often should a website be checked?

Frequency should reflect business impact, provider limits and response capability. A check every minute is not useful if nobody can act on it or if it creates constant false alarms.

Can monitoring test a contact form?

A controlled synthetic journey can test submission and sometimes delivery, but test data, rate limits, spam controls and inbox handling need careful design.
